The Animal Services Foundation of Ventura County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports the efforts and mission of Ventura County Animal Services (VCAS). With more than 500 stray and abandoned animals being cared for at VCAS each day, your help is critical to our mission!
Help make a difference in the life of stray or abandoned animal today. Your support makes all the difference.
Animal Services Foundation Ventura County (ASFVC) is a non-profit organization of passionate volunteers dedicated to improving the lives of animals large and small in our diverse community. Thanks to the selflessness of many generous donors, ASFVC is able to serve this mission and support Ventura County Animal Services (VCAS) in its lifesaving efforts by providing medical care, training, pet retention funds and much more. While the shelter’s basic funding is administered by Ventura County, VCAS relies upon the Foundation for crucial donor-generated funds and resources to expand its care beyond the minimum and insure that every animal receives the complete love and attention that it deserves.
The importance of a robust animal Foster Program cannot be emphasized strongly enough. It is key to the success of a socially conscious sheltering model in the community. Since 2014, Ventura County Animal Services (VCAS) has seen a steady rise in the numbers of kittens that are in need of a foster family, increasing from about 214 kittens in 2014 to more than 1,000 in 2022. Our Adult Cat and Adult Dog Foster Programs have also seen increases in the number of animals entering Foster Care. Your generosity helps VCAS provide many important tools for the Foster Parent Toolbox, such as milk replacement supplement for kittens and puppies; weight scales; specialty nursing bottles and nipples; warming discs and special foods, to name just a few.
